Tickets are available for online sales only. All ticket sales are final and nonrefundable.
Only persons ages 21+ will be allowed on the premises during the event. If you cannot show proper identification at the door, you will be turned away.
Ticket purchase includes:
Access to museum and galleries
Beer tastings and food on a first come first served basis
Live music and ugly sweater contest
Raffle basket drawing participation require separate purchase on site during event
Presale for Non-Museum Members starts at $40, day-of tickets are $45 per person.
SDMRM Museum Members and other parties will be provided with discount codes via email communication. Make sure to check your inbox if you are expecting to use one.

Saturday, December 16 from 6:00pm – 9:30pm!
Help us raise $10,000 to support the preservation of the museum's permanent exhibits and the award-winning model railroad clubs who design and maintain them all for you to enjoy.
Usher in the holiday season with a party that supports local arts and culture AND local businesses! Festivities include:
- Beer tasting from some of San Diego’s best breweries
- Wear your most abundantly adorned, cheesy, and downright hideous holiday sweater for a chance to win a prize
- All museum model train exhibits will be running for guests to experience
- PLUS live music, amazing raffle drawing opportunities, food, and more!
Remember, Ales N’ Rails is an ages 21+ up event ONLY!

No outside alcohol is permitted on the premises.
Don’t Drink and Drive! The San Diego Model Railroad Museum wants you to have a good time at Ales N’ Rails, but also wants you to get home safely and responsibly. SDMRM encourages all events attendees to make sure they have a designated driver or utilize ride share services to get to and from Ales N’ Rails.
